Service bulletin SIL 742

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Service Information Letter 742 notified certain unit owners that the routing of the air conditioning lines on some units may cause the hoses or fittings to interfere with other components in the engine compartment. This can result in hose or fitting damage which can lead to air conditioning system failure. Altec recommends an inspection of the air conditioning lines on each unit no later than the next regular maintenance interval or 90 days after the receipt of this letter whichever comes first to correct any potential issues
