Service bulletin TSB200094-042320

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

This Technical Service Bulletin describes the verification and resolution of intermittent loss of communication between VGT actuator and engine ECM at nominal voltage of 24-volt for 24-volt applications at early key-on of engine. The electrolytic capacitor in the VGT actuator is being replaced with a dry capacitor which does not have electrolytic fluid. The dry capacitor will reduce malfunction rate and will not impact the customer interface with the turbocharger actuator or the turbocharger.
