# Service bulletin SBW54\-075

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10173895
- Published by NHTSA: 2020\-04\-18
- Manufacturer's number: SBW54\-075

## NHTSA's summary

Service Bulletin for Lengthening the Backup Light Harness. Though the back\-up light harness is long enough to connect to the backup light switch, it may be short enough that the wire seals in the connector can be stressed. Moisture entering through the seals can cause corrosion, resulting in a bad connection and/or failure of the switch. As a result, backup lights and, if equipped, the backup alarm, may not function when the vehicle is shifted into reverse.
