# Service bulletin SSM 48602

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

SSM 48602 \- 2020 F\-Super Duty \- Incorrect Or Missing Factory Invoiced Accessory \(FIA\) Trailer Camera Tire Pressure Monitoring System \(TPMS\) Kits Some 2020 F\-Super Duty vehicles were shipped with incorrect FIA trailer camera/TPMS kits and some vehicles ordered with the Trailer TPMS only kit did not ship with the kit. The only accessory trailer kit which can be used on 2020 vehicles is the Trailer Camera only kit HC3J\-1A515\-CC. Do not attempt to install kits \(HC3J\-1A515\-AC or BC\) with trailer TPMS. Vehicles equipped with fifth wheel prep pack and Pro Trailer Backup Assist should install the provided trailer yaw sensor kit 14G551 and plug the yaw sensor wiring into the 12\-way bed connector. The trailer camera only kit that shipped with the vehicle can be installed as it connects to the bumper mounted 7/12 trailer connector provided. Follow Super Duty Owners Manual Park Aid section to display trailer Auxiliary Camera view. Trailer TPMS only kit is still unavailable. Monitor OASIS for updates.

- [TSB 23\-2082](/bulletins/10233593.md), 2023-04-04, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. Some 2020\-2022 F\-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp \(MIL\) with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTC\) P0315, P054F, P054E, P2A00, P2A01, and/or P02ED stored in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). This may be due to the software in the PCM. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM and the transmission control module \(TCM\).
- [SSM 51263](/bulletins/10228880.md), 2023-01-06, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION; STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. Some 2015\-2023 F\-150, 2017\-2022 F\-Super Duty, and 2019\-2023 Ranger vehicles may exhibit dust ingress into the cabin through the doors or air extractors. This may be due to the climate control system being in recirculation mode as a result of the recirculation button being on or automatic strategies for heating/cooling efficiency. To minimize dust ingress when driving in off\-road or secondary road conditions, make sure that all doors and windows are fully closed and the climate control system is switched to defrost on and the instrument panel and footwell air vents are switched to off. Temperature and fan settings may be adjusted as desired. Alternatively, max defrost can be activated which will adjust all settings automatically. Operating in defrost mode will keep constant air flow through the rear air extractors and other small areas, helping minimize dust ingress.
- [TSB 22\-2254](/bulletins/10214878.md), 2022-07-01, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. Some 2019\-2020 Edge/F\-150/Fusion/Continental/MKZ/Nautilus, 2019\-2021 Mustang/Ranger/Transit Connect, 2020\-2021 EcoSport/Escape/Expedition/Explorer/F\-Super Duty/Aviator/Corsair/Navigator, 2021 Bronco Sport and 2020\-2022 Explorer/Aviator vehicles with SYNC 3 may experience various SYNC performance related concerns. This may be due to the SYNC Software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the accessory protocol interface module \(APIM\) software.
- [SSM 49756](/bulletins/10191521.md), 2021-05-03, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. Some 2018\-2021 vehicles supported by FDRS may not list a software update for a module under the SW Updates tab although an SSM or TSB is published for a software update. This may be due to the module already being at the latest software level. A later software level may have been programmed at the assembly plant, during a previous dealer visit or by an over the air \(OTA\) update for vehicles that have automatic updates enabled in the SYNC system settings. To review a vehicle's OTA update history, visit the Connected Vehicle \> OTA Dashboard tab in OASIS. Information about the OTA Dashboard can be found on FMCDealer.com when performing a search on OTA History Job Aid.
