# Service bulletin ONL6TM02272020

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10171978
- Published by NHTSA: 2020\-03\-04
- Manufacturer's number: ONL6TM02272020
- Manufacturer's date: 2020\-02\-27
- NHTSA component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

## NHTSA's summary

Owner Notification Letter \- On some Accord Hybrid models, the brake tandem motor cylinder may only operate in failsafe mode if saltwater \(in areas where road salt is used\) enters the brake tandem motor cylinder and corrodes its metal components. The saltwater is able to enter the motor due to small gaps in the motor cover that result from issues in the manufacturing process. If the brake tandem motor cylinder enters into failsafe mode, instrument panel indicators will come on to alert the driver and there will be an increase in brake pedal travel during braking.
