Service bulletin N192219160

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

N192219160 - Service Update - Certain 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 4500/5500/6500 vehicles may have been built with a rear axle housing breather improperly installed. If the rear axle housing breather were loose or missing, a customer could see rear diff. fluid on the ground. If the leak were ignored, a grinding noise could occur and continued use of the vehicle may result in the rear differential seizing. Verify rear axle housing breather is installed/oriented correctly. If not, drain and refill rear differential to eliminate any possible contamination and install new rear axle housing breather.
