Service bulletin TSB190085-052120

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

This Technical Service Bulletin describes the verification and resolution of engines utilizing the Bosch® VE, VP-14 or VP-30 ReCon® fuel injection pump with complaints of no start, low power, engine stall, and/or engine shutdown. An inspection during troubleshooting reveals that fuel pump driveshaft is fractured at end of keyway toward the fuel pump housing. This malfunction can occur due to fuel pump gear design that creates a high stress point on the back of the keyway on the pump driveshaft where the fuel pump gear and/or gear housing can become damaged.
