# Service bulletin TSB 19\-2207

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10162068
- Published by NHTSA: 2019\-07\-03
- Manufacturer's number: TSB 19\-2207

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2013\-2017 C\-Max/Fusion/MKZ Hybrid/Energi vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp \(MIL\) with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) P1450, P0456, P0457, P04EE and/or P04EF. This may be due to the sealing capability of the canister purge valve. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to update the PCM software and replace the canister purge valve.

- [SSM 54366](/bulletins/11025611.md), 2025-11-19, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2015\-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. Pinpoint test HK in the Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis \(PC/ED\) or in Section 303\-14 of the Workshop Manual \(WSM\) has been updated to address this concern.
- [TSB 25\-2395](/bulletins/11022395.md), 2025-09-03, Service bulletin: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM; ENGINE. This article supersedes TSB 24\-2345 to update the Service Procedure. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit an oil leak from the engine oil pan RTV seal. This may be due to a lack of RTV adhesion.
- [SSM 52335](/bulletins/10251952.md), 2024-03-20, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. For 2015\-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines and customer concern of an engine oil leak, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 303\-00 for oil leak inspection and testing methods. Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.
- [SSM 52314](/bulletins/10251934.md), 2024-03-20, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. During service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual \(WSM\) Section, 303\-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.
- [TSB 23\-2338](/bulletins/10244801.md), 2023-11-03, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. This article supersedes TSB 22\-2181 to update the Service Procedure and Part List. Some 2015\-2017 Edge, 2016\-2017 MKX, 2017 Fusion/MKZ/Continental vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost or 3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an oil leak from the engine oil pan RTV seal. This may be due to a lack of RTV adhesion. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the valve covers and replace the factory oil pan with a press in place gasket style oil pan.
- [SSM 51409](/bulletins/10233681.md), 2023-04-04, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2014\-2020 Fusion and 2017\-2019 Escape vehicles may be equipped with a 1.5L Ecoboost engine that uses a 50\-tooth variable camshaft timing \(VCT\) intake and exhaust unit from the assembly plant or if a service long block was installed. VCT locking tool 303\-1097 is not compatible with this system. If VCT system service is required, replace both the intake VCT \(service part DS7Z\-6256\-F\) and exhaust VCT \(service part DS7Z\-6256\-G\) as a pair. An interim loaner tool program has been established to enable these repairs. Contact 1\-800\-403\-4844 \(Monday\-Friday 8:00am to 8:00pm EST; Saturday 8:00am to 3:00pm EST\) to obtain this tool. A VCT locking tool compatible with the 50\-tooth system is under development and will be sent to dealerships. Continue to monitor OASIS for additional information.
- [TSB 22\-2396](/bulletins/10225458.md), 2022-11-01, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. Some 2013\-2020 Fusion, MKZ and 2013\-2018 C\-Max vehicles equipped with an HF35 transmission may exhibit a thumping/rubbing or grinding noise coming from the transmission. The noise may be present in all gear ranges including neutral when the vehicle is moving but will not be present when the vehicle is stationary or in park.
- [TSB 22\-2381](/bulletins/10225447.md), 2022-10-31, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. Some 2015\-2018 Fusion/MKZ vehicles equipped with a 2.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a rattle noise from the transmission bellhousing area. This may be more noticeable at idle. This may be due to a flexplate crack around the mounting area. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the flexplate, transmission fluid pump, and torque converter.
