## NHTSA's summary

A customer may be unable to select a transmission gear and/or start the engine. A 'Gearbox fault' message may also be displayed on the Instrument Cluster. Switching the ignition 'OFF' and then 'ON' clears the fault. Upon further diagnosis, a Technician may find DTC \(Diagnostic Trouble Code\) U0402\-92 stored in the Transmission Control Switch \(TCS\). DTC U0402\-00 \[stored in the PCM \(Powertrain Control Module\)\] and/or U0404\-64 \[stored in the TCM \(Transmission Control Module\)\] may also be found.
