# Service bulletin TSB 19\-2053

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10156483
- Published by NHTSA: 2019\-04\-02
- Manufacturer's number: TSB 19\-2053
- Manufacturer's date: 2019\-03\-22
- NHTSA component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2017\-2019 F\-Super Duty chassis cab/dual rear wheel \(DRW\) pickup vehicles and 2016\- 2019 F\-650/F\-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an oil consumption concern in applications where the engine is idled for extended periods of time. This may be due to high crankcase pressure as a result of the crankcase ventilation filter element becoming restricted. To resolve the concern, replace the crankcase vent oil separator. The new crankcase vent oil separator appears different from the old crankcase vent oil separator as it no longer includes a serviceable filter element.

- [SSM 52335](/bulletins/10251952.md), 2024-03-20, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. For 2015\-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines and customer concern of an engine oil leak, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 303\-00 for oil leak inspection and testing methods. Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.
- [SSM 52314](/bulletins/10251934.md), 2024-03-20, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. During service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual \(WSM\) Section, 303\-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.
- [TSB 22\-2248](/bulletins/10251453.md), 2024-03-07, Service bulletin: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. This article supersedes TSB 22\-2201 to update the Service Procedure and Parts List. Some 2015\-2019 F\-Super Duty and 2016\-2019 F\-650/F\-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an oil leak from the oil filter, crankcase vent oil separator, oil cooler, or upper/lower oil pan. This may be due to the mating surfaces of the upper oil pan and the engine block or to a clogged crankcase vent oil separator.
