# Service bulletin 01\-010\-19\-3582

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Some vehicles may experience a lack of power and the check engine light on with DTC P61B:00 stored in the PCM memory when driving in high temperatures at high elevations. DTC P061B:00 \- \[PCM\] Internal control module torque calculation performance problem. This concern may be caused by improper PCM control logic. The engine torque calculation error may increase in high temperatures at high elevations. To eliminate this concern, the PCM software has been modified.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [05\-002\-23](/bulletins/10237199.md), 2023-06-04, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Some vehicles may experience the check engine light and automatic transaxle warning light ON with one or more of these DTCs stored in the TCM memory \(P0842, P0847, P0872, P0877, P0780, P1738\).
- [SA\-038\-22](/bulletins/10215238.md), 2022-07-06, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\); POWER TRAIN; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE. Service part Automatic Transaxles \(ATX\) manufactured on or after July, 2018 are shipped with a blank TCM that requires configuration.
- [0500215](/bulletins/10213404.md), 2022-06-06, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Check Engine light and A/T Warning light on with one or more of these DTS \(P0842, P0847, P0872, P0877, P0780, P1738\) Stored in TCM Memory
- [07\-007\-16](/bulletins/10186253.md), 2021-02-01, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Air intake mode does not work after repair of rain sensor, FBCM, IC, PCM, or TCM. After performing any one of the following repairs, the air intake link at the blower unit may disengage and result in the HVAC systemnot switching between recirculation and fresh air modes. \* Replacing rain sensor \* Replacing front body control module \(FBCM\) \* Replacing instrument cluster \(IC\) \* Reprogramming any control unit \(PCM, TCM, etc\) \- manual A/C only. This is caused by the air intake link in the blower unit not being sturdy enough for the actuator torque under fail safe fmode. Fail safe mode occurs when a communication error occurs between the A/C control unit and the humidity sensor. To c orrect this problem, the blower unit has been modified.
- [05\-002\-20\-3704b](/bulletins/10185048.md), 2021-01-05, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN. Some customers may complain about a surging at low speeds and during acceleration. This surging is in the longitudinal direction, felt about 2 cycles per second, and occurs in the locked up 1st gear. This may be caused by the torque fluctuation and the torsional resonance in the torque converter. To correct this concern, the PCM software has been modified to reduce the torque fluctuation.
- [01\-011\-19\-3586a](/bulletins/10163361.md), 2019-08-01, Service bulletin: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Some customers may experience a check engine light illuminating with DTC P2096:00 stored in PCM memory. DTC P2096:00 \- Air fuel too lean. NOTE: This concern occurs only on vehicles with PCMs manufactured by MITSUBISHI. Due to improper control logic of the PCM, a false error may be detected. To eliminate this concern, the PCM software has been modified.
- [01\-008\-19\-3568a](/bulletins/10159194.md), 2019-04-25, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Some customer using “Flexible” setting for Oil Change in the maintenance monitor may notice that the oil change due notification will not work due to improper control logic of the PCM. The PCM clears the TRAVELED DISTANCE at the wrong time while the ELAPSED DAYS and the DETERIORATION DETERMINATION work as designed. To correct this issue, the control logic of the PCM has been changed.
- [01\-008\-19\-3568](/bulletins/10154448.md), 2019-03-11, Service bulletin: ENGINE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Some customer using "Flexible" setting for Oil Change in the maintenance monitor may notice that the oil change due notification will not work due to improper control logic of the PCM. The PCM clears the TRAVELED DISTANCE at the wrong time while the ELAPSED DAYS and the DETERIORATION DETERMINATION work as designed. To correct this issue, the control logic of the PCM has been changed.
- [01\-015\-18\-3513](/bulletins/10144326.md), 2018-09-10, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\); SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:PEDALS AND LINKAGES; ENGINE. Some vehicles may experience a lack of power and the check engine light on with DTC P061B:00 stored in the PCM memory when engine cranking is interrupted. This concern most likely occurs when the brake pedal is released during engine cranking. DTC P061B:00 \- \[PCM\] Internal control module torque calculation performance problem. Due to an improper control logic of the PCM, the engine torque calculation error detection is too sensitive. To eliminate this concern, the PCM software has been modified.
- [05\-003\-17\-3389](/bulletins/10123437.md), 2017-11-14, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\); SERVICE BRAKES. Some customers who drive at elevations higher than 3,300 ft \(1,000 m\) may complain of a shift shock felt when shifting into 3rd, 5th and/or Reverse with no AT related DTCs stored. The symptom can be temporarily repaired using the AT initial learning procedure, but may recur after multiple driving cycles. Applicable situations: Shifting up: 2\-3 or 4\-5, Shifting down: 4\-3 or 6\-5, NOTE: Shifting from 2\-3 or 4\-3 is more likely to be felt due to the gear ratio. Shifting into Reverse: D\-R, N\-Ror P\-R, Improper control logic of the TCM may cause improper learning of R\-3\-5 brake engaging speed when the vehicle is driven at high elevations. To correct this issue, the control logic of the TCM has been modified.
