# Service bulletin 00\-003\-19\-3583

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SA\-020/23](/bulletins/10235693.md), 2023-05-05, Service bulletin: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY. Some customers will report that their fuel door was stuck closed and would not open to refuel the vehicle. Follow the repair steps below unless the conditions outlined in TSB 09\-019/21 \- FUEL\-FILLER LID PANEL IS DEFORMED for 2019\-2021 Mazda3 and 2020\-2021 CX\-30 are present.
- [0101015](/bulletins/10213377.md), 2022-06-06, Service bulletin: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Noise from fuel tank insulator Some vehicles may exhibit an unusual noise while driving the vehicles The noise may be caused by a broken fuel tank \(B\) insulator \(A\) that is haning down and contacting the propeller shaft.
- [09\-006/22](/bulletins/10209790.md), 2022-04-05, Service bulletin: LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES; EQUIPMENT; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP. Some customers may experience that after the doors are locked and the Fuel Door Lock Delay with MAZDA CONNECT has passed \(default setting is 90 seconds\), the fuel\-filler lid does not lock and can be opened when pressing it. NOTE: \*The fuel\-filler lid does not lock immediately after the doors are locked, but after the time set in the Fuel Door Lock Delay \(0, 30, 60, 90, and 120 seconds\). \*Although the root cause has not been identified, the vehicle should be repaired by adjusting the fuel\-filler lid opener cable position when there is a customer complaint.
- [09\-019\-21\-3813](/bulletins/10198573.md), 2021-06-29, Service bulletin: FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY. Some vehicles may exhibit a deformed fuel\-filler lid panel \(1\) attached to the fuel\-filler lid box, resulting in a poor appearance. This concern is caused by the lid box not having enough water drainage capability which leads to the accumulation of water inside it. The water then freezes in cold weather and expands or the inner side of the lid panel absorbs the water and swells from long exposure, deforming the lid panel. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the fuel\-filler lid box has been modified to have better drainage capability and a modified fuel\-filler lid panel service part has been established for less water absorbance.

When the engine is started for the first time after parking overnight in cold weather \(below freezing\), some vehicles may exhibit the check engine light on with DTC P0451:00 \(Fuel tank pressure sensor: sensor characteristic malfunction\) stored in memory. This concern may be caused by an increase in discharge resistance due to water accumulated and frozen in the canister vent hose.
- [01\-010\-15\-3040A](/bulletins/10105649.md), 2017-06-08, Service bulletin: FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY. SOME VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT AN UNUSUAL NOISE WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE NOISE MAY BE CAUSED BY A BROKEN FUEL TANK \(B\) INSULATOR \(A\) THAT IS HANGING DOWN AND CONTACTING THE PROPELLER SHAFT. THE RIVETS \(C\) MAY BREAK WHEN A LOAD OCCURS. THE RIVET MATERIAL HAS BEEN CHANGED TO ELIMINATE THIS CONCERN.
- [01\-013\-15\-3048](/bulletins/10099423.md), 2017-05-17, Service bulletin: FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY. SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMPLAIN THAT THE FUEL TANK IS DIFFICULT TO FILL UP. THIS CONCERN MAY BE CAUSED BY IMPROPER OPERATION OF THE NON\-RETURN VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK \(TEMPORARILY STUCK OPEN\). THE PRODUCTION PROCESS OF THE FUEL TANK HAS BEEN IMPROVED TO ELIMINATE THIS CONCERN.
- [01\-018\-14\-2969](/bulletins/10098851.md), 2017-05-11, Service bulletin: FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY. SOME VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A TAPPING NOISE COMING FROM INSIDE THE FUEL TANK \(UNDER THE REAR SEAT\) WHEN IDLING AFTER THE FUEL TANK HAS BEEN FILLED UP. THE NOISE DISAPPEARS AFTER DRIVING AND CONSUMING SOME FUEL. THE CONCERN WILL LIKELY OCCUR IF THE FUEL TANK IS OVERFILLED \(MORE FUEL IS ADDED AFTER THE FUEL PUMP NOZZLE SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALLY\) OR FILLED UP NORMALLY IN HIGH AMBIENT TEMPERATURES AND THE FUEL EXPANDS.THIS NOISE IS CAUSED WHEN THE FLOAT INSIDE THE ROLL OVER VALVE \(ROV\) MOVES UP AND DOWN WHEN THE TANK IS OVER\-FILLED. TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, THE ROV HAS BEEN MODIFIED TO RESTRICT THE UP AND DOWN MOVEMENT OF THE FLOAT.
