# Service bulletin 02\-003\-19\-3547

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10153317
- Published by NHTSA: 2019\-02\-19
- Manufacturer's number: 02\-003\-19\-3547
- Manufacturer's date: 2019\-01\-10
- NHTSA component: SUSPENSION

## NHTSA's summary

Beginning with the CX\-5, grip type front and rear stabilizer bushings have been incorporated for noise prevention purposes. If any type of grease or lubrication is applied to the bushings, it may create noise due to bushing slippage.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [PF\-26\-02](/bulletins/11035603.md), 2026-08-04, Other: SUSPENSION. Supersession between B60S\-34\-300G/350G and B60S\-34\- 300H/350H. Please be advised that the G\-level and H\-level control arms are not interchangeable. The G\-level part cannot be used to repair a vehicle built with the H\-level. The H\-level part can be used to repair a vehicle built with the G\-level, but the ball joint retainer \(d\- Code 34\-552\) has been eliminated.
- [SA\-051\-25](/bulletins/11026350.md), 2025-12-05, Service bulletin: STEERING; SUSPENSION; POWER TRAIN; WHEELS. Noise, Vibration, and Harshness \(NVH\) Diagnostic Guidelines Diagnostic Guidelines When diagnosing NVH concerns, it is essential to first classify the issue into one of three primary categories: Noise, Vibration, or Harshness. Many customer complaints may involve overlapping symptoms, such as both noise and vibration, so identifying the dominant characteristic is critical. Once the primary symptom is determined, follow the appropriate diagnostic path. For example, if a concern includes both noise and vibration but is related to vehicle speed, the vibration diagnostic path should be followed. When considering component replacement during the diagnostic process, it is best practice to start with the lowest cost or most accessible part unless diagnostic evidence clearly identifies a more expensive or complex component as the root cause. This approach helps minimize repair costs and avoids unnecessary part replacements. For example, a growling or bearing whine noise may be mistakenly attributed to internal components in the differential, transfer unit, or transmission, when the actual source is a wheel bearing. Misdiagnosis like this can lead to unnecessary repairs, added time and cost. To help prevent this, always follow the guidelines in the repair procedure.
- [02\-003\-24](/bulletins/11006915.md), 2024-09-04, Service bulletin: SUSPENSION. Some customers may experience a rattle noise coming from the front suspension while driving the vehicle, with no other driveability concerns. The rattle noise may be caused by a decrease in tightening torque of the two \(2\) front lower control arm bolts \(B\) shown in the image below.
- [09\-038\-23](/bulletins/10246146.md), 2023-12-05, Service bulletin: SUSPENSION:REAR:SPRINGS:AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some customers may complain about the poor appearance due to an uneven rear beltline molding joint. This concern is caused by the rear beltline molding not being manufactured according to the original designed shape. To eliminate this concern, the rear beltline molding manufacturing process was improved to prevent form shape discrepancies from the original design.
- [02\-003\-23](/bulletins/10244671.md), 2023-11-01, Service bulletin: SUSPENSION. Some customers may complain of signs of oil on the struts or shock absorbers. In most cases the oil that is present is normal, and a result of the oil that remains on the shaft during the normal sweeping process of the shaft seal. Follow the inspection guidelines below to determine if the condition is a result of the normal sweeping process or a failure of the shaft seal.
- [02\-004\-22a](/bulletins/10226814.md), 2022-12-02, Service bulletin: SUSPENSION.
- [SA\-057\-22](/bulletins/10218775.md), 2022-09-06, Service bulletin: SUSPENSION. Some vehicles may exhibit a rattle noise from the front suspension when driving over bumps or on a road with a wavy surface
- [02\-002\-22](/bulletins/10217210.md), 2022-08-04, Service bulletin: SUSPENSION. Some customers may complain about oil seepage or oil leakage from the rear shock absorbers. This concern may be due to a lack of sealing performance. To eliminate the oil seepage/leakage, the rear shock absorbers production process has been modified.
- [0300116](/bulletins/10213393.md), 2022-06-06, Service bulletin: SUSPENSION; STRUCTURE. Rattle/Chatter noise from rear differential
- [0200616](/bulletins/10213390.md), 2022-06-06, Service bulletin: SUSPENSION. Creaking Noise from front lower control arm bushings
