# Service bulletin MC63878528

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10152623
- Published by NHTSA: 2019\-01\-07
- Manufacturer's number: MC63878528
- Manufacturer's date: 2018\-11\-01
- NHTSA component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

## NHTSA's summary

The engine starts poorly at low ambient temperatures. When the outside temperature is very low, it is a BASIC requirement that the throttle valve is opened slightly when starting the engine \(Requirement: Open throttle grip by approx. 15°\). This is part of the operating instructions released by BMW for the current \(as of March 2018\) K02/03 that have throttle valves actuated by cable.
