# Service bulletin TSB 18\-2331

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SSM 47634](/bulletins/10152463.md), 2019-01-07, Service bulletin: TIRES. Some 2013\-2019 Escape and 2015\-2019 MKC vehicles may exhibit a vibration attributed to the tires. Prior to performing any road force balancing procedures or related diagnosis, make sure the vehicle tire pressure is correct and is driven a minimum of 24 Km \(15 miles\) to eliminate any possible flat spotting conditions and potential misdiagnosis. Refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 204\-04A for further information. In addition, it is recommended that diagnosis of tire/wheel vibration should not be performed on tires with less than 320 Km \(200 miles\). Some initial tire/wheel vibration issues \(such as flat spotting\) may correct themselves after the tires have been in service for 320 Km \(200 miles\). Setting tire pressure to the correct placard pressure is contained within pre\-delivery inspection.
- [tsb17\-2207](/bulletins/10125067.md), 2017-12-14, Service bulletin: TIRES. Some 2017\-2018 Escape vehicles may exhibit a vibration at highway speeds above 80 Km/h \(50 MPH\) which may be attributed to short term flat spotting in the tires. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
- [SSM 46153](/bulletins/10091003.md), 2017-02-09, Service bulletin: TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS. SETTING THE CORRECT TIRE INFLATION PRESSURE IS AN IMPORTANT STEP IN THE PRE\-DELIVERY PROCESS AND DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE INTERVALS. RECENT CUSTOMER CLINICS REVEALED THAT MOST EVERY VEHICLE IN THE CLINICS HAD THE TIRE PRESSURES SET INCORRECTLY. TIRE PRESSURES FROM THE FACTORY ARE NOT SET TO THE CORRECT SPECIFICATION. MAINTAINING THE CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE IS KEY TO THE RIDE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VEHICLE AND AFFECTS RIDE QUALITY, HANDLING, LOAD CAPACITY AND TIRE WEAR. THE RECOMMENDED PRESSURE SETTINGS CAN BE FOUND ON THE TIRE INFORMATION LABEL IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR JAM. DO NOT USE THE TIRE PRESSURES LISTED ON THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRES. MAINTAINING THE TIRE PRESSURE IS PART OF NORMAL MAINTENANCE. IT SHOULD BE RECHECKED MONTHLY, PER THE OWNER GUIDE AND DURING THE RECOMMENDED TIRE ROTATION INTERVALS.
- [SSM\-45797](/bulletins/10078979.md), 2016-08-29, Service bulletin: STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS; TIRES. DRIVE MINIMUM 15 MILES BEFORE DIAGNOSING TIRE VIBRATIONS
