NHTSA's summary
BMW Motorrad has ascertained that in some cases the threaded fastener of the side stand can work loose. If this remains unnoticed by the rider, the consequence is that the side-stand switch is not tripped when the side stand is extended or retracted. There is a possibility of the engine refusing to start.
