## NHTSA's summary

TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING WARNING ON GEN2 HYBRIDS. Transmission warning light is illuminated and vehicle goes into fail\-safe mode. The following Check Control messages may be displayed: CC 585 \- Hybrid System Fault\! CC 569 \- Drivetrain, stop carefully\! CC 586 \- Drivetrain no restart\! During diagnosis, some of the following fault codes related to transmission overheating, may be stored in the EGS control module: 44D31F1 \- Temperature sensor; excessive temperature in transmission \(1450 C\) 44D671 \- Temperature sensor system; Hotmode 1 44D672 \- Temperature sensor system; Hotmode 2 with driver message 44D673 \- Temperature sensor system; Hotmode 2 with torque reduction Vehicle's repair history shows a recent transmission fluid replacement under a regular maintenance program. Transmission has been overfilled during the last fluid replacement service.
