Service bulletin M090116

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

IRAP Next. The current application of IRAP will be phased out at the end of 2016. The new IRAP protocol is called IRAP Next. IRAP Next is easier to use, no longer requires a boot-up CD, is more stable and can transmit data at higher speeds. This will help reduce vehicle down time and expand the number and types of jobs that can be carried out by the IRAP team. In addition to IRAP Next, we are pleased to announce that the new hours of the IRAP Team will be in line with the PuMA Hotline and TeileClearing. The hours are 8:30am-7:30pm EST. We have also introduced a backup email address. This can be used in case PuMA is not operational or if you have any IRAP related questions. The address is IRAPUSA@bmwna.com. CAUSE Based upon IT demands, feedback and the increasing size of vehicle's software files, a more stable and user friendly IRAP platform has been developed.
