Service bulletin BMWMAR0616

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

A Delivery Stop was issued on two 3 Series (F30) vehicles. In these vehicles, the fuel tank system has some incorrect parts installed. Your Service Management has been informed directly. Affected vehicles can be identified with a ?Vehicle Comment? in DCS Warranty Vehicle Inquiry or ISPA light with the description: A Delivery Stop has been issued for this vehicle. Dealers must ensure that all Campaigns are completed before retail delivery to the customer. Please be reminded that it is a violation of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act for you to sell, lease or deliver any new vehicle subject to this notification until the Delivery Stop repair has been performed. This means that centers may not legally deliver new motor vehicles to a consumer until it is fixed or use/sell replacement equipment/parts subject to a Delivery Stop. Note also that substantial civil penalties apply to violations of this law. Also, you should not sell, lease or deliver any Certified Pre-Owned or used vehicles subject to a Delivery Stop until the repair is completed.
