# Service bulletin 68295438A

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Turbocharger There is an exhaust brake switch improvement on the latest Powertrain Control Module \(PCM\) flash update detailed in a Service Bulletin under Vehicle Performance. This new PCM software fixes an issue where the exhaust brake mode would default to an ?on setting? in the PCM but not update the EVIC and therefore the exhaust brake switch would not indicate the correct exhaust brake mode status on the dash. Do not replace the turbocharger for complaints of exhaust brake operating when the switch is off. Replacing the turbocharger will not address these complaints. Update the PCM with the new software version to correct this issue.
