# Service bulletin SSM 47547

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10149778
- Published by NHTSA: 2018\-12\-03
- Manufacturer's number: SSM 47547
- Manufacturer's date: 2018\-09\-27
- NHTSA component: POWER TRAIN

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2013\-2019 Police Interceptor Sedan and Utility vehicles may exhibit a reduced top speed after a transmission fluid service with unapproved fluid. The use of unapproved fluid or improper transmission fluid level can lead to reduced vehicle performance and transmission damage that is not covered under warranty. Use only Mercon LV Automatic Transmission Fluid, XT\-10\-QLVC \(US\), CXT\-10\-LV12 \(Canada\). Use only the Transmission Fluid Exchanger process when performing service intervals. Check and adjust transmission fluid level only at normal operating temperatures of 82?C\-93?C \(180?F\-200?F\). The fluid adjustment procedure requires using the appropriate Ford scan tool or equivalent to verify fluid temperature. For optimum performance at high speeds, adjust fluid level to the top of the "MIN" mark on the dipstick.

Some 2015\-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. Pinpoint test HK in the Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis \(PC/ED\) or in Section 303\-14 of the Workshop Manual \(WSM\) has been updated to address this concern.
- [SSM 52314](/bulletins/10251934.md), 2024-03-20, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. During service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual \(WSM\) Section, 303\-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.

- [TSB 22\-2287](/bulletins/10216459.md), 2022-07-28, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. Some 2015\-2019 MKC and 2016\-2019 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 2.3L engine may exhibit a vibration/rough idle when the vehicle is in drive \(D\) or reverse \(R\). The vehicle may also exhibit a lack of engine revolutions per minute \(RPM\), lack of acceleration on take off and/or shudder while driving. This may be due to the torque converter overheating causing damage to the torque converter as well as possible internal damage to the transmission. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the torque converter and specified internal transmission components that may have been damaged.
- [SSM 50861](/bulletins/10214492.md), 2022-06-29, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. Some 2015\-2016 vehicles equipped with 6F50/6F55 transmission and built on 2\-Nov\-2015 and through 1\-Feb\-2016 may exhibit no reverse, 3rd and 5th gear with diagnostic trouble codes \(DTCs\) P0715,P0717,P0756 and/or P2701. This may be caused by the direct clutch cylinder/tone wheel \(7F283\) inadvertently forcing the snap ring out of position resulting in damage to the direct clutch hub \(7G384\). Service part \(7J250\) complete rotating 3\-5\-R clutch module is now available. Refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 307\-01. For claiming, use causal part 7F283 and applicable labor operations in Section 7 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) manual.

Some 2018\-2022 F\-150, Expedition, Navigator, Transit, Aviator and Explorer vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with Diagnostic Trouble Codes \(DTCs\) P025A, P025B, P00C6, P008A and/or U0109 stored in the powertrain control module \(PCM\). This may be due to an intermittent or partial disconnect of the harness to the fuel pump control module \(FPCM\) connector, connector pin push\-outs or loose/corroded grounds. Inspect FPCM connector, applicable grounds \(F\-150\- G401, Expedition/Navigator\- G403, Transit\- G401, 2018\-2019 Explorer G302, 2020\-2022 Explorer/Aviator\- G407\) and confirm FPCM connector \(F\-150\- C4336, Expedition/Navigator\- C433, Transit\- C433, 2018\-2019 Explorer C3239, 2020\-2022 Explorer/Aviator\- C4033\) is fully seated prior to performing PC/ED diagnostics or replacing any components.
