Service bulletin MC6200113
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
BMW Motorrad has ascertained that in isolated instances, not all data is saved correctly in the instrument panel after the ignition is switched off or after the vehicle experiences low battery voltage. This can lead to errors, such as incorrect on-board computer readings. There is also the possibility of the EWS key data saved in the instrument panel being corrupted, which could result in one or more ignition keys not being recognized and therefore the electronic immobilizer is not deactivated. The problem is due to a software bug.

The document is the manufacturer's. This site does not hold it. NHTSA files a document at one of these two addresses; we have not asked NHTSA which.
