Service bulletin BMWFEB0313
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
MINI Service Managers, Technicians, Parts Message Text: Any N18-equipped vehicle requiring an engine temperature sensor replacement as part of Service Actions SI M170412 through M170912 does not have a Bosch high-pressure fuel pump (HPP) and thus does not require any special procedure. If you encounter a vehicle outside of the production range of the Service Action that requires an engine temperature sensor retrofit (with Bosch HPP), the HPP must be loosened from the cylinder head, and temporarily moved away to fit the screw-in temperature sensor P/N 8 603 908. When the sensor is fully seated into the thermostat housing, the HPP can be reinstalled. An improved repair is under development and will be available in the near future.
