# Service bulletin MC63308496

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10149275
- Published by NHTSA: 2018\-11\-26
- Manufacturer's number: MC63308496

- [MC210221](/bulletins/10200257.md), 2021-08-09, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. The clutch plates do not tolerate frequent and prolonged operation at the clutch friction zone, causing a shorter service life in motorcycles that see intensive use
- [B340517](/bulletins/10174009.md), 2020-04-20, Service bulletin: BACK OVER PREVENTION; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; WHEELS; POWER TRAIN. TICKING NOISE WHILE CORNERING WITHOUT THE BRAKES APPLIED: This Service Information Bulletin \(Revision 3\) replaces SI B34 05 17 dated September 2017. Ticking noise coming from front wheel while cornering without brakes applied noticeable at low speeds. The vehicle must be moving. See attached video V34 01 20 Note: For a similar noise heard when parking with the brakes applied refer to SIB 31 01 12. Microscopic movement of the contact interface between the inner brake disc and the wheel bearing flange on vehicles equipped with lightweight brake discs.
- [310112](/bulletins/10150323.md), 2018-12-03, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. Clicking Noise from Front Axle. Clicking noises are heard from the front axle area while maneuvering at low speeds \(e.g., parking lot maneuvers\). CAUSE Movement between the contact surfaces of the wheel bearing and swivel bearing \(knuckle\)
- [121611](/bulletins/10150096.md), 2018-12-03, Service bulletin: ENGINE; POWER TRAIN. N55 Engine Failsafe \- FC 120308 Boost Pressure Control, Plausibility: Pressure Too Low Stored in DME Fault Memory. INFORMATION The customer complains the SES is illuminated and the engine has reduced power \(engine failsafe mode\).
- [MC2300117](/bulletins/10149274.md), 2018-11-26, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:COLUMN SHIFT ASSEMBLY; EQUIPMENT. Customer complains about an operating failure on the left or right multifunction switch.
- [MC53055102](/bulletins/10147995.md), 2018-11-13, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. Gear lever does not return to neutral position. Uneven faces on shifting pawl.
- [MC62332524](/bulletins/10147915.md), 2018-11-13, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. Occasionally it's not possible to downshift the transmission; especially from 3rd to 2nd gear.
- [MC59759165](/bulletins/10147911.md), 2018-11-13, Service bulletin: ENGINE; POWER TRAIN. Transmission rattles when the engine is at operating temperature and idling.
- [610314](/bulletins/10147084.md), 2018-11-05, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. Check Control Messages Related to Battery Charge During Cold Ambient Temperatures. On cold days with an outside ambient temperature of less than 15°F, customers may notice a check control message related to the battery that is displayed on the instrument cluster and the control information display. Under these conditions, the vehicle starts. Various power management faults can be stored. When the outside temperatures drop below 46°F, the charging system is switch to full charge. CAUSE ? The check control message \(ID 229\) is caused by a heavily discharged battery. ? The check control message is triggered when the current state of charge \(SoC\) of the battery approaches the minimum SoC that is required to start the vehicle \(start capability limit\). ? In low outside ambient temperatures, the start capability limit of the vehicle is higher. Therefore it takes more energy from the battery to start a cold engine. ? Without the early warning of the check control message, the current state of charge would drop below the start capability limit and the vehicle would not start. ? The vehicle's intelligent power management system actively takes measures to increase the charge of the battery, such as increasing idle speed and reducing or shutting down certain electrical consumers.
- [B310112](/bulletins/10146821.md), 2018-11-05, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY. CLICKING NOISE FROM FRONT AXLE This Service Information bulletin supersedes SI 31 01 12 dated June 2015. Clicking noises are heard from the front axle area while maneuvering at low speeds \(e.g., parking lot maneuvers\). CAUSE Movement between the contact surfaces of the wheel bearing and swivel bearing \(knuckle\)
