## NHTSA's summary

i8 \- Insufficient Fuel Tank Refilling Recognition. After vehicle runs out of fuel \(fuel tank completely empty\), refilling by a small volume of gasoline \(less than 1.5 gallon\) is not sufficient to start the combustion engine. The DME does not recognize small increments of refueling. CAUSE DME software error.
