# Service bulletin 161614

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

SI B16 16 14January 2015 Fuel SystemsTechnical Service This Service Information bulletin supersedes SI B16 16 14 dated December 2014. designates changes to this revision SUBJECT Service Engine Soon Light \(MIL\) Is On with SCR Faults Stored. The Service Engine Soon light is on with the following fault stored in the Selective Catalyst Reduction module \(SCR\). z 805220 \- Delivery module, system pressure, pressure build\-up is too low. This fault is very likely to be stored at temperatures below 32°F / 0°C if the vehicle is programmed using ISTA/P 3.54.1 or 3.54.2. F25 \(X3\) only: z 8051B0 \- Metering line heating, power too high SCR module software error

- [B170121](/bulletins/10212788.md), 2022-05-31, Service bulletin: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The quick disconnect coupling on the cylinder head coolant vent line could break at the cylinder head. This would lead to loss of coolant from the engine.
- [B010722](/bulletins/10212780.md), 2022-05-31, Service bulletin: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Component and Issue Specific Limited Emission Warranty Extension. This bulletin is notice of a limited emission warranty extension. This is NOT a notice of a Recall or Service Action. There is no immediate repair required unless the BMW vehicle is currently experiencing this problem. Customer Notification Letter Even though this is NOT a Recall, BMW NA is sending VIN\-specific customer notification letters. The plastic fuel tank has two openings, one at the top right and the other at the top left. The top right opening \(passenger's side, serviceable\) provides a mounting point and repair access to the intake fuel pump/level sensor assembly. The top left opening \(driver's side, non\-serviceable\) serves as an access point for the installation of the suction jet pump/level sensor assembly during the fuel tank manufacturing process. After these components are installed, the top left side opening is then permanently closed and sealed with the installation of a circular Coex biopolymer plastic cover plate which is welded into place. Over time, the left side opening plastic cover plate weld may become damaged. Should this occur, there is the possibility of fuel leakage. Additionally, your vehicle will store the corresponding fault codes that may also be generated, and the Malfunction Indicator Lamp \(MIL\) will illuminate.
- [B011417](/bulletins/10204649.md), 2021-12-13, Service bulletin: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS. For the eligible vehicles, BMW of North America, LLC \(BMW NA\) is extending the limited warranty for the vehicle's engine high pressure fuel pump \(shown\) to: 10 years/120,000 miles as determined by the vehicle's original in\-service date.
- [B130720](/bulletins/10186215.md), 2021-02-01, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. INCORRECT TORQUE SPECIFICATION FOR THE HIGH\-PRESSURE PUMP IN ISTA: The current version of ISTA states the incorrect tightening torque for the High\-Pressure pump M6 mounting bolts to the cylinder head cover. The correct tightening torque is only 12 Nm for the M6 bolts.
