N63R Map Thermostat Faults This Service Information bulletin supersedes SI 12 13 16 dated May 2016. The Service Engine Soon light is on with one or more of the following fault codes: 1D2009 \- characteristic map thermostat: clamped closed 10921B \- characteristic map thermostat, stroke sensor: short circuit to ground 1D2008 \- characteristic map thermostat: clamped open 1D2401 \- characteristic map thermostat, actuation: short circuit to B\+ 10921A \- characteristic map thermostat, stroke sensor: short circuit to B\+ 1FB201 \- Check Control message \(ID 257\): Engine too hot\! Drive gently 1FB301 \- Check Control message \(ID 39\): Engine overheated. Stop carefully 1D2404 \- characteristic map thermostat, actuation: line disconnection 1D2402 \- characteristic map thermostat, actuation: short circuit to ground In severe cases there may be no communication with the DME \(MASTER DME \- control unit description file DME8FF\_R\) Coolant is leaking past the map thermostat electrical connector.

Excessive spacing between seat mat sensor signal wires and their grounding shield sleeve. \* Drying the seat mat due to moisture. \* If there is no moisture, secure loose cables and install 2 cable ties \* If the 2 cables ties are already installed properly, replace the seat mat \* Statement added to SI \- do not replace the CIS electronics or the ACSM module for this siutation.
