Service bulletin B170216

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

The source of the oil or transmission fluid must be identified and corrected prior to performing this cleaning procedure. Petroleum products in the cooling system can slowly degrade rubber components. Note: Citric Acid Powder is intended to remove cooling system scale or hard water deposits and will not remove petroleum products such as engine oils or transmission fluids.
