# Service bulletin MC2300116R

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

Transmission. BMW Motorrad has made technical updates to the transmission on the air\- liquid\-cooled boxer models. As with the R 1200 GS Adventure \(K51\), all air\-liquid cooled boxer models received a shock damper on the transmission output shaft as of July 2016. At the same time, a reworked control actuation, transmission shafts, as well as their bearings have been used. This results in a slightly longer installation length for the new transmission.
