# Service bulletin B340217

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

?SERVICE ACTION: SERVICE ACTION: PROGRAM THE DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL \(DSC\) UNIT . When the collision warning system is active, the pre\-pressurization of the Dynamic Stability Control \(DSC\) \(allowing maximum deceleration braking\) is not working correctly. However when the brake is applied by the driver, normal braking force \(deceleration\) is experienced. Normal braking functions are not affected. Only the braking function of the collision warning system is affected. Error of the coded data in the DSC

- [B660523](/bulletins/10244242.md), 2023-11-01, Service bulletin: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL; LANE DEPARTURE; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE. Various functions of the camera\-based driver assistance systems \(ADCAM system\) can lead to customer complaints.
- [B340820](/bulletins/10179813.md), 2020-09-14, Service bulletin: ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL:AUTOMATIC \(ASC\). DELIVERY STOP \- OBD ACCESS IN DSC CONTROL UNIT: Aftermarket scan tools cannot read fault codes in the Dynamic Stability Control \(DSC\) unit via the On Board Diagnostic \(OBD\) socket. The DSC data is not processed correctly in the BDC and therefore cannot transmit any diagnostic requests via the OBD using aftermarket scan tools.
- [B610920](/bulletins/10174023.md), 2020-04-20, Service bulletin: ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL:AUTOMATIC \(ASC\); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STEERING; SUSPENSION. CHECK CONTROL MESSAGES FOR BRAKE SUSPENSION AND AIR BAG SYSTEM MALFUNCTION: Multiple check control messages \(CCM\) can display for brake suspension and air bag system malfunction. The customer may also complain about any of the following: Engine can no longer be switched off Drive position \(D\) cannot be engaged on the gear selector switch \(GWS\) Reduction of steering assist After an engine emergency shut\-off \(either a prolonged long press; or 3 consecutive short presses of the Start/Stop button\) and the vehicle going to sleep \(identifiable by the lighting of the "Start/Stop button"\) everything resumes normal functionality and the CCM messages no longer appear.
- [B660916](/bulletins/10151333.md), 2018-12-10, Service bulletin: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:CRUISE CONTROL; EQUIPMENT; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. """Collision Warning Failed"" or ""Pedestrian Warning Failed"" CCM Display. While driving, a Check Control Message \(CCM\) is displayed advising of the following: Front collision warning failed Pedestrian detection failed The following fault code is stored in the KAFAS \(Camera\-based Driver Assistance System\): 0X800AC4 \- Camera calibration failed The KAFAS camera is not properly mounted and secured to the mounting bracket on the windshield; And/ or: The mounting bracket glued to the windshield is not installed correctly. The pictures below show both incorrect and correct installation. This picture shows the KAFAS camera installed in the bracket. Notice the spacing highlighted by the ""green lines"""
- [B660915](/bulletins/10147890.md), 2018-11-13, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LANE DEPARTURE; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE. Sporadically, a CCM \(Check Control Message\) is displayed advising that the Camera\-based Driver Assistant system has failed. During this failure, all KAFAS \(Camera\-based driver assistance systems\) system functionalities are inoperative. The affected functionalities are: Pedestrian Detection Front Collision Warning Lane Departure Warning Speed Limit Info \(if equipped\) Note: The system is functional after the interior temperature has cooled down or by cycling the ignition off and on again.
