# Service bulletin SB\-18\-15\-006

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10145809
- Published by NHTSA: 2018\-10\-15
- Manufacturer's number: SB\-18\-15\-006
- Manufacturer's date: 2018\-09\-13
- NHTSA component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

## NHTSA's summary

On some Model X vehicles, incorrect routing of the intrusion sensor wires might result in electrical interference between the intrusion sensor and the intrusion sensor electrical control unit \(ECU\). The electrical interference causes the car alarm to activate, even if the vehicle is not being intruded.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [SB\-25\-16\-003](/bulletins/11020189.md), 2025-07-04, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. On certain Model S and Model X vehicles, the battery powered Pyrotechnic High Voltage \(HV\) Battery Disconnect will reach the end of its battery lifespan in the near future, which will trigger alerts and may limit the vehicle’s performance.
- [SB\-22\-11\-002 R1](/bulletins/11001922.md), 2024-06-20, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. One or both front door drive units and front door harnesses may require replacement due to corrosion.
- [SB\-18\-15\-008 R1](/bulletins/10194274.md), 2021-05-24, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:HUD:CAMERA/SENSOR; VISIBILITY; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT. Certain Model X vehicles were manufactured with triple camera windshield brackets that were not properly secured to the windshield. The bracket may look uneven and/or move when manipulated. However, there is no effect on Autopilot functionality or rear view mirror stability.
- [SB\-20\-00\-001](/bulletins/10172384.md), 2020-03-09, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Tesla is committed to continuous improvement of the security of its products and advises customers to always install the latest mobile app and vehicle software releases to remain as secure as possible. On approximately May 1, 2020, the Tesla connectivity network is undergoing enhancements for increased security, reliability, and scalability. In order for vehicles to maintain compatibility with and access to features requiring Tesla network connectivity \(such as receiving future over\-the\-air software updates, accessing the mobile app and associated features, utilizing voice commands, receiving streaming media content, etc.\), vehicles must be running software version 2019.40.2.3 or newer.
- [SB\-18\-17\-010 R2](/bulletins/10171177.md), 2020-02-10, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. On certain Model X vehicles, a plug in the 12V battery was not installed at the factory, or a Service Center installed a replacement 12V battery that lacks the plug.
- [SB\-20\-17\-001](/bulletins/10171176.md), 2020-02-10, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. When some Autopilot HW2 and HW2.5 Model S, Model X, and Model 3 vehicles are near airport ASR\-9 radar antennae, the vehicle cameras might be affected by electromagnetic interference, and Autopilot/camera alerts might be displayed.
- [SB\-19\-17\-014](/bulletins/10169818.md), 2020-01-06, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT.
