Service bulletin TSBENG190

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

TSB - ENGINE REPLACEMENT PRACTICES REMINDER - This bulletin provides information regarding engine replacement practices. If performed improperly, incomplete or without necessary verification or Quality Control measures, engine short/long block replacements and related repair procedures can result in customer dissatisfaction, comebacks, and/or secondary engine or component failures. Additionally, poor engine replacement practices can result in roadside breakdowns, engine and/or vehicle damage, up to and including total loss, whether from mechanical failure or, in extreme cases, from vehicle fires resulting from insufficient workmanship.
