# Service bulletin 5NP\-T8W7X\-09

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

On certain Sonata \(LF\) vehicles, the left/right outside mirror may not actuate up/down and/or left/right. In these instances it is recommended to replace the outside mirror actuator only, not the entire outside mirror assembly.

## Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component

- [24\-BD\-001H](/bulletins/10251285.md), 2024-03-05, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY; VISIBILITY/WIPER. This bulletin contains information about the proper removal of the windshield wiper blade protective cover on all models. If the protective cover is not removed correctly, there is a possibility of the rubber insert and rail spring becoming partially separated on the inner side of the wiper blade, which could lead to poor wiping performance and/or possible scratching of the windshield glass. Follow the procedure in this bulletin to properly remove the windshield wiper blade protective cover on all new wiper blades.
- [23\-01\-014H\-3](/bulletins/10235341.md), 2023-05-02, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Certain Hyundai vehicles may not be equipped with an immobilizer. This bulletin provides the service procedure to update the IBU/BCM \(Integrated Body Control Unit/Body Control Module\), to revise the OEM Hyundai burglar alarm system operation and ignition start logic, and installation of two anti\-theft decals for the front windows.
- [23\-BD\-002H](/bulletins/10230904.md), 2023-02-02, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY. This bulletin provides information regarding condensation related to the accumulated moisture in the headlamp, rear combination lamp, daytime running lamp \(DRL\), or fog lamp. This TSB illustrates the various causes of condensation inside the lamp assembly. Lamp assembly replacement is NOT necessary in most cases. This condition can be eliminated by turning on the lamps with the engine running for several minutes or during normal driving operation.
- [19\-BD\-007H](/bulletins/10167732.md), 2019-11-18, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY:SUN/MOON ROOF ASSEMBLY. The warranty coverage for the panoramic sunroof moving glass has been extended to 10 years or 120,000 miles from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use, whichever occurs first, and is valid for original and subsequent owners.
- [19\-BE\-004H](/bulletins/10158803.md), 2019-04-22, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES; VISIBILITY. This bulletin provides information on the serviceable parts for the outside mirror assembly. When diagnosing and repairing the outside mirror, do not replace the entire assembly. Refer to page 2 of this TSB for replacement of individual parts.
- [5NP\-F7S4R\-01](/bulletins/10089413.md), 2017-01-24, Service bulletin: VISIBILITY:SUN/MOON ROOF ASSEMBLY. CERTAIN 2015 AND 2016 MODEL YEAR HYUNDAI SONATAS AND 2016 SONATA HYBRIDS COME EQUIPPED WITH AN OPTIONAL PANORAMIC SUNROOF. THE SUNROOF ASSEMBLY INCORPORATES A WIND DEFLECTOR TO HELP REDUCE WIND NOISE IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT WHEN THE SUNROOF IS OPEN. IF THE WIND DEFLECTOR BECOMES PARTIALLY DETACHED FROM ITS MOUNTING BRACKET WHILE THE SUNROOF IS OPEN, THE DEFLECTOR CAN INTERFERE WITH THE CLOSING OF THE MOVEABLE SUNROOF PANEL. IN SOME CASES THIS INTERFERENCE CAN RESULT IN THE SUNROOF PANEL DETACHING FROM ITS MOUNTING TABS. IF THE SUNROOF PANEL DETACHES WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, THE PANEL COULD BECOME AN OBSTACLE TO OTHER DRIVERS, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
