Service bulletin tsb18-2188

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some 2017-2018 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with 6.2L gas engines built on or before 2-May-2018 may exhibit a crank/no start concern with or without DTCs P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306, P0307, P0308 and/or P0316. This concern may be due to spark plug fuel fouling during cold starts in temperatures below 50Å?F (10Å?C). The PCM software update improves cold weather fueling strategies. Note: E85 fuel usage can contribute to poor starts, drivability concerns or inability to start the engine. Refer to the Owners Manual for E85 fuel usage guidelines. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
