Service bulletin TSB180078-062020

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

This Technical Service Bulletin describes the verification and resolution of Fault Code 36 Shutdowns on generators due to hot air recirculation. In certain situations, hot air coming from the ventilation exhaust can be recirculated into the cool air intake. The recirculation continues and increases the internal temperature of the generator set until the fuel begins to boil and vaporize, starving the engine of fuel which may shut the generator set down on FC36. This bulletin describes installation of a ducting kit as a countermeasure for this condition, if appropriate.
