# Service bulletin SSM 47251

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10137141
- Published by NHTSA: 2018\-05\-21
- Manufacturer's number: SSM 47251
- Manufacturer's date: 2018\-04\-19
- NHTSA component: EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

## NHTSA's summary

Some 2015\-2018 Edge and 2016\-2018 MKX vehicles may exhibit a concern with the remote start selections for heated steering wheel and/or heated seats grayed out in the cluster. To correct this concern, reconfigure the front controls interface module \(FCIM\) using As\-Built Programming. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest data. If the concern is still present, refer to Workshop Manual \(WSM\), Section 501\-10A for the directed self\-test for the FCIM. For claiming, use causal part 18842 and applicable labor operations in Section 11 of the Service Labor Time Standards \(SLTS\) Manual.
