# Service bulletin MC6100417

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

From August 2017, batteries delivered to BMW Motorrad are fitted with a data matrix code by the manufacturer. The recharging label is \(partially\) omitted. The last complete charging date is recorded \(calendar day and year\) in the data matrix code and also below that in plain text. The battery must be recharged after 4 months max. For batteries, which are installed and connected in the vehicle, the time period is reduced to 4 weeks.
