Service bulletin SSM 47098

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some 2013-2016 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit intermittent lack of A/C performance. If root cause for lack of performance is diagnosed to be caused by the air inlet mode door remaining in mid travel position, it may be due to the heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) module not completing the initial key on self test of the actuator. To correct this condition, reprogram the HVAC module to the latest calibration using IDS or FJDS release 108.04 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com. For claiming, use causal part 19980 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
