NHTSA's summary

This Procedure informs affected owners that Detroit Diesel Corporation (DDC) has advised MCI to install an insulation blanket to the intermediate exhaust pipe between the diesel particulate filter (DPF) and the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) device on coaches equipped with a DD13 GHG17 engine. The addition of the insulation blanket will maintain higher exhaust gas temperatures within the SCR, which may improve performance and a potential to reduce the occurrence of after-treatment related engine codes, and that MCI will remedy the affected coaches at no cost to the owner.
