# Service bulletin T\-SB\-0241\-17

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10132414
- Published by NHTSA: 2018\-04\-02
- Manufacturer's number: T\-SB\-0241\-17
- Manufacturer's date: 2017\-07\-27
- NHTSA component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY

## NHTSA's summary

TSB: Some 2016 ? 2017 model year Prius vehicles equipped with a NiMH HV battery may exhibit one or both of the following conditions after repeated driving on long downhill slopes: ? When accelerating from a stop, or from extremely low speeds, the vehicle may have a reduction in power. ? The HV battery monitor on the multi\-information display continually shows one bar, indicating that the battery State\-Of\-Charge \(SOC\) is at its lowest level. The Hybrid Control Computer \(HV ECU\) logic has been modified to reduce the possibility of these conditions.

- [T\-SB\-0074\-20](/bulletins/10179602.md), 2020-09-14, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:FAN. TSB: Some 2003 ? 2020 model year Prius, Prius C, Prius V; 2006 ? 2019 model year Highlander Hybrid Vehicle; 2007 ? 2020 Camry Hybrid Vehicle; 2013 ? 2020 model year Avalon Hybrid Vehicle; 2016 ? 2020 model year Mirai and RAV4 Hybrid Vehicle; and 2020 model year Corolla Hybrid Vehicles may exhibit a MIL ON condition with Diagnostic Trouble Codes \(DTCs\) P0A80/P1AC000 and/or P0A7F/P1A8000 stored due to dust or debris buildup in the HV battery cooling fan and/or HV cooling filter. Follow the procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.
- [T\-TT\-0553\-19 Rev](/bulletins/10178787.md), 2020-08-24, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. TT: The new DCA\-8000 Diagnostic Charger may cause your facility?s Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter \(GFCI\) breaker to trip. A GFCI breaker can be tripped for various reasons, one of the reasons may be related to the DCA\-8000. We are investigating this issue to determine the root cause. Other reasons the GFCI breaker may trip ?Circuit demand is too high for GFCI rating ?Worn out GFCI internal contacts ?Improper installation or wiring of GFCI breaker
- [TTT043217 Rev1](/bulletins/10152222.md), 2018-12-17, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. TT: Some Customers may complain about a Hybrid Vehicle Battery cooling system warning message. This warning message may appear when the HV Battery cooling system loses efficiency due to debris on the filter and or some object obstructing the air inlet.
- [TTT043217](/bulletins/10152210.md), 2018-12-17, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. - [T\-SB\-0043\-16](/bulletins/10140592.md), 2018-06-11, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; EQUIPMENT. TSB: Hybrid vehicles are equipped with 2 types of batteries: Hybrid Vehicle \(HV\) battery; 12\-volt auxiliary battery. If the hybrid vehicle is put into storage, the state of charge \(SOC\) of its HV battery and auxiliary battery will gradually decrease. To prevent the auxiliary battery from becoming discharged during storage, proper maintenance is necessary. Please perform the following maintenance service for the HV battery and 12\-volt auxiliary battery.
- [T\-SB\-0039\-16](/bulletins/10140588.md), 2018-06-11, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. TSB: A battery in a stored vehicle is subject to conditions that can reduce its performance and life. These conditions include storage period, temperature, parasitic drain, and battery load. Because of these factors, battery inspection and maintenance are required in order to ensure proper operation and optimal battery life. As a matter of policy, Toyota does not provide battery warranty coverage for discharged and/or failed batteries due to lack of maintenance. It is the dealer?s responsibility to maintain the specified State of Charge \(SOC\) of the vehicle?s battery while in stock and assure proper State of Charge \(SOC\) at delivery. To eliminate customer service concerns due to an undercharged battery during the first few weeks of ownership, ALL dealers should check battery State of Charge \(SOC\) and recharge, if necessary, within 48 hours of delivery to customers.
- [T\-TT\-0395\-16](/bulletins/10140582.md), 2018-06-11, Service bulletin: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; EQUIPMENT. TT: HV Batteries have liquid filled cell modules, to prevent leakage from cells, it is very important to confirm the proper orientation mark of the DRC.
- [T\-TT\-0365\-15](/bulletins/10134227.md), 2018-04-23, Service bulletin: EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. TT: A vehicle may arrive to the dealer with a MIL ?ON? condition and P0A80 stored in the memory. Some cases have been identified with internal modification done to the HV Battery. Modified or altered parts are not covered under warranty.
