# Service bulletin 19\-003\-12

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

- Type: Service bulletin
- NHTSA id: 10128936
- Published by NHTSA: 2018\-02\-21
- Manufacturer's number: 19\-003\-12
- Manufacturer's date: 2012\-12\-08
- NHTSA component: STEERING; POWER TRAIN

## NHTSA's summary

Police Vehicle Power Steering Overheat During Closed Course Training Exercises This bulletin involves installing an external power steering cooler on the involved police fleet vehicles. The police fleet may experience increased steering efforts or power steering overheat during extended periods of extreme closed course handling maneuvers while conducting training exercises in ambient temperatures above 100° F \(38° C\). Diagnostic Trouble Code C2210\-00 \- ECU over temp may be present.

- [S1709000010](/bulletins/10229031.md), 2023-01-09, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE \(TCM/PCM/TECM\). Customer complaints may include abnormal engine noise, rough idle, lack of power, misfire. Upon investigation, it may be found that there is excessive camshaft lobe wear/lifter wear \(roller failure\) on one or more cam lobes and that camshaft/lifter replacement is necessary.

- [9004009](/bulletins/10221097.md), 2022-09-26, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. Transmission Kit with Torque Converter 1. All Promaster \(VF\) 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the transmission bracket to the transmission case fasteners are removed during servicing, the fasteners \(Part Number 06511385A$\) are one\-time usage. Vehicles built prior to 10/23/2015 requires Service Kit PN 68461214AA; includes Transmission Isolator PN 68264483AA, and Adaptation Bracket 68264479AA and Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA Vehicles built after on or after 10/23/2015 will require only the Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA. 2. All 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the vehicle you are repairing has a crack in the flex plate or failed pump bushing inspect and confirm that both \(2\) dowel pins are present in the engine block, which align the transmission center line to the crank shaft centerline and visually inspect the dowel alignment holes in the transmission case. If the holes are damaged or elongated the transmission should be replaced to prevent further damage to the transmission/flexplate or pump bushing due to the inability to properly align the engine to the transmission during the repair. 3. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If pump bushing is scored or damaged and the dowel pin alignment holes are ok, replace the pump assembly as opposed to complete transmission. 4. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If vehicle is jerking/slipping with MIL code\(s\) P0740 or P2764, check TCC Solenoid operation. If TCC Solenoid is ok, the codes are indicative of a torque converter failure. Replace the torque converter.
- [2101214](/bulletins/10221035.md), 2022-09-26, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. 8 Speed Transmission Shift Adaptation, Drive Learn Procedure This bulletin involves performing a Transmission Adaptation Learn procedure based on a subjective shift quality rating evaluation. The adaptation drive learn procedure must be performed on all 8\-speed transmissions when the transmission is repaired/replaced and/or the Valve Body/TCU assembly \(mechatronic\) is replaced, or when the adaptation memory cells are cleared with the wiTECH diagnostic scan tool. Customers may indicate that their transmission shift quality does not meet their expectations.
- [9004361](/bulletins/10220843.md), 2022-09-26, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. NAG1 Transmission Before installing the transmission with the engine, check for dowel pins \(2\) for alignment. If the pins are missing request to add the dowel pin first and then install the transmission
