# Service bulletin TSBTRA067

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

## NHTSA's summary

TSB \- AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL PRESSURE CHARACTERISTIC VALUES DATA TRANSFER \- This bulletin provides information regarding data transfer of automatic transmission \(A/T\) characteristic values on 2015MY\-2018MY K900 \(KH\) vehicles equipped with A8TR1 8\-speed A/T and 2017MY\~ Sportage \(QL\), Forte \(YDm\), and Cadenza \(YG\) vehicles equipped with the GEN2 Type \(A6MF2\-2 6\-speed / A8LF1 8\-speed\) A/T. The type of solenoid valve used to control gear shifts changed from indirect to direct control type to reduce oil capacity and improve fuel efficiency.

New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides the procedure to replace the inhibitor switch on some 2017MY Optima \(JFa\), Sorento \(UMa\), Optima Hybrid \(HEV\), Optima Plug\-in Hybrid \(PHEV\), Sportage \(QL\), Forte \(YD\), and Sedona \(YP\), and some 2016\-2017MY Optima \(JF\) vehicles, equipped with a front wheel drive 6\-speed transmission, which may experience the concerns listed below. These concerns may be due to the inhibitor switch not allowing the correct gear position signal to be sent to various control units.
- [PS750](/bulletins/10242913.md), 2023-10-01, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN; STEERING; SUSPENSION. PITSTOP: AWD SYSTEM CONCERN DUE TO TIRE CIRCUMFERENCE \- This Pitstop provides information regarding potential concerns with the All\-Wheel\-Drive \(AWD\) system due to tire sizes of differing circumference. Some customers may complain of a chatter sensation felt in the drivetrain of the vehicle and/or the failure of drivetrain component\(s\). A difference in tire size \(width, aspect ratio, construction, rim diameter etc.\) may be the cause.
- [TSB\_TRA072\_R4](/bulletins/10238484.md), 2023-07-05, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. - [TSB\_TRA046\_R3](/bulletins/10226555.md), 2022-12-06, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: TRANSMISSION FLUID APPLICATION GUIDE \- This bulletin provides information relating to the correct transmission fluid type and fill quantity requirement for each Kia model. A flush is required ONLY when a transmission is replaced, refer to applicable vehicles in the chart starting on page 2.
- [TSB\_TRA083\_R1](/bulletins/10200551.md), 2021-09-03, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: 7\-SPEED DCT JUDDER INSPECTION AND DUAL CLUTCH ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT \- This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides the procedure to replace Dual Clutch Assembly and upgrade the TCU on some 2016\-2020MY Kia vehicles listed in the table below, equipped with the 7 Speed Dual Clutch Transmission \(DCT\), which might exhibit clutch judder when accelerating from a stop.
- [TSB\_TRA096](/bulletins/10200512.md), 2021-08-25, Service bulletin: POWER TRAIN. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: 8AT \(A8LR1\-SBW\) SOLENOID VALVE REPLACEMENT AND TCU LOGIC IMPROVEMENT \- This bulletin provides the procedure to replace two \(2\) solenoid valves \(35R and 4\&OD\) and improve the gear shift logic of the Transmission Control Unit \(TCU\) on some 2015\-2016MY K900 \(KH\) vehicles, equipped with Tau 5.0L engine and 8\-speed automatic transmission w/Shift\-By\-Wire \(A8LR1\-SBW\), which may exhibit symptoms of abnormal shift shock during an upshift \(2nd\-\-\>3rd, 3rd\-\-\>4th, 4th\-\-\>5th\). This condition occurs on vehicles with mileage over 12,000 miles and may be due to possible premature wear of the solenoid valve. To correct this concern, replace the 35R and 4\&O/D solenoid valves with added “H” ventilation port, perform TCU relearn, and, if applicable, apply the improved logic to the Transmission system using the KDS ECU Upgrade function as described in this bulletin.
- [TSB\_TRA083](/bulletins/10185033.md), 2021-01-06, Service bulletin: STEERING; POWER TRAIN; EQUIPMENT. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: 7\-SPEED DCT JUDDER INSPECTION AND DUAL CLUTCH ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT \- This bulletin provides the procedure to replace Dual Clutch Assembly and upgrade the TCU on some 2016\-2020MY Kia vehicles listed on the table below, equipped with the 7 Speed Dual Clutch Transmission \(DCT\), which might exhibit clutch judder when accelerating from a stop. If the vehicle body vibrates without the steering wheel shuddering when performing creep driving test \(driving the vehicle up to 3mph\), the vehicle is exhibiting clutch judder. The creep test can be conducted by driving at a speed slower than 5 mph after releasing the brake.
