## NHTSA's summary

Service Information \(ODIS Service Version 2.0.0 \- Installation Instructions\): This document informs from ODIS Service version 1.2.0, update downloads and installations take place via the dealership network \(Internet\) connection. However, some application updates are often too large or too complex to transmit online. Also, when reinstalling software to resolve performance issues or restore software on repaired devices, the additional down time required for online update installations can be problematic. As a result, ODIS Service "Installation Version" DVDs will be issued regularly throughout the year. Each new installation version DVD consolidates and installs updated application data, as well as all diagnostic data released online up to the issue date of the DVD. This enables fast ODIS Service installations on new devices, and faster reinstallations on exiting devices when needed.
