## NHTSA's summary

Girard Water heater requires inspection for possible replacement of the gas valve. \- an intermittent occurrence when the gas valve is not openig to light the burner of the water heater. Confirmation of old valve to be replaced is when inspection finds solid balck solenoids . New valve will have white rings around the top of each solenoid and does NOT require replacement.
