Service bulletin N039NAS1

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Situation: An issue has been identified on certain vehicles within the listed Affected Vehicle Range which may have been manufactured with engine heatshield fasteners not tightened to the correct torque value. In cases where fasteners are not to the correct torque value, a heatshield may: become loose, leading to an audible noise; or dislodge from its location and drop down onto the engine undershield. In an instance where the heatshield dislodges, any component within 150mm/6in that is not metallic or ceramic that would have been protected will be at risk of heat damage.
