## NHTSA's summary

Service Information \(VAS 6160 Diagnostic Tablet Performance Enhancement\): Certain VAS 6160 diagnostic tablet device performance issues may be the result of unfavorable partitioning of the hard drive during the migration from Windows® XP to Windows 7. Examples are slow application installations, slow application startups and navigation, GFF navigation hangs intermittently, and longer update installations compared to other devices in service. As part of Volkswagen's commitment to improve and support the use of VAS diagnostic devices in dealer workshops, we are providing downloadable "alignment tool" software to optimize the performance of VAS 6160 devices with Windows 7. This document describes the software download and execution process.
