Technical Bulletin \(Insufficient Steering Assistance \- Warning Light ON\): Software\-related deviation in the power steering control unit \(\-J500\-\). Old version of the steering gear is not able to receive the latest software level for the power steering control module. Updated steering gear includes the latest software version for the power steering control module. Software level 1401. The product solution for this issue is that the vehicles are no longer in production. the servicing of the vehicles in position of customers is to Replace the power steering gear with part number 5N1423062MX, see Repair Manual Group 48 Steering in ELSA. This document discusses the "Fault Codes" necessary to diagnosis, and potential remedy of the issue. The fault codes for checking warranty coverage for servicing the vehicle are also available.
