## NHTSA's summary

Two software installation options are available for initial setup of new VAS 6356 Test Instruments Box. These options depend on the existing or planned diagnostic software installations on the connected VAS diagnostic laptop and tablet devices. The latest installation version of ODIS Service \(V1.1.2\) includes installation of VAS 6356 software files. As a result, DO NOT use the software installation CD included with the VAS 6356 shipment on devices where ODIS Service is already installed. This avoids a potential software compatibility issue. All that is required on devices where ODIS Service is already installed is to extract the pre\-installed VAS 6356 USB driver and network adapter files, perform a brief configuration and test the system connection as per the following instructions.
