## NHTSA's summary

On Audi vehicles manufactured within a specific period, a fault may occur in the communication between the steering and the other control units after the ignition has been switched on. As a result, the red warning lamp for the steering is displayed and the power steering is deactivated. This Update is in effect until removed. Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 48M2 code in the Elsa Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair. Vehicle must be within the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin. Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.
