Service bulletin AWC-13-09

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Clarification New Vehicle Limited Warranty: During a standard review of our internal procedures, Audi Warranty found that the Shock Absorber and Remote Battery coverage noted is inconsistent with the Warranty Booklet provided in each vehicle. Although the internal guideline shows that shock absorbers and remote batteries are covered for 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever occurs first from the original in-service date, the Warranty Booklet does not denote that coverage specifically. So that Audi customers receive the full benefit of the warranty package which accompanies their vehicle purchase, the internal guideline is clarified to show coverage for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first from the original in-service date.
